This is the portal to becoming a developer and finding resources and information. Once you have registered as a developer you can log in here to manage your relations with Apple. They require you to get certificates for identifying yourself, provisioning profiles to let you use your iPhone for testing, profiles for distributing your application, etc. When you have an application ready, this is the portal you use to send it to the iTunes store and manage its life in the store. Apple supports many mailing lists, each devoted to a particular topic. There is no list for the iPhone, but the Cocoa list gets many comments about it. Apple does not officially follow these lists, but many of the Apple engineers haunt them regularly, and there is a lot of useful advice and answers to be found here. The developer forums are the official place to exchange information. However, they are not as fast moving as the mailing lists. If you find a bug in the tools, the OS or the iPhone, this is the place to report it. It is also the place to recommend changes in the OS. |
